The Tool can be mounted on the front or rear slide for either right or left hand cutting.

The Tool Post is always mounted with the open side toward the spindle.  The Pt. #6 taper wedge can be used on either side to suit the position in which the tool is being used.

For right hand cutting on the front slide it is mounted without the raising block and with the form tool right side up.  For left hand operations on the front slide the raising block and the long tool bolts supplied must be used, with the form tool upside down.

For left hand cutting on the rear slide it is mounted without the raising block and with the form tool right side up.  For right hand operation on the rear slide, the raising block and the long tool bolts supplied must be used, with the form tool upside down.

The form tool can be adjusted to center very easily by means of the taper wedge and the Pt. #8 adjusting screw.  It is then locked in place by the Pt. #9 clamp screws.  The tool bit can be adjusted sideways by use of the Pt. #10 alignment screws.

This Tool Post also makes a convenient cut-off blade holder (see Fig. 2) by use of the cut-off blade holders which are available for forward or reverse rotation.  They are easily mounted into the Tool Post following the directions outlined above according to the slide used and rotation desired.

The Tool Post can also be used for skiving operations.
